What makes MajestiBallerina special

There are brands that arise from a business idea. And then there are those that are born out of genuine passion, like my MajestiBallerina. Behind this name is not an anonymous company, but me, a woman with heart, sensitivity, and a deep love for gymnastics and dance. My name is Sylvia Schuhmann, now living in Anklam, a small Hanseatic town in the northeast of Germany.

From the sewing room to the brand – the beginning of a special journey. Even as a child, I was fascinated by gymnastics & dance. I loved the elegance of movement, the precision, the interplay of body and music. But what always bothered me back then was, dance slippers were often too hard, too uncomfortable, or simply didn’t hold up, or were difficult to get. So I took to the sewing machine myself and started designing shoes that really fit – soft, flexible, beautiful, and long-lasting.

What started as a small favor for local dance groups and carnival clubs quickly grew into something more. More and more people were asking for my hand-sewn ballet shoes – for training, performances, or simply because they loved these special shoes. My hobby became a calling, and the calling eventually became a business with my collection: MajestiBallerina.

Today, over 25 years later, MajestiBallerina has grown into a well-known brand in the field of dance and gymnastics shoes. What has remained is the commitment to quality, comfort, and individuality.

I have found my way into the digital world without losing my roots. Through my own online shops such as majestiballerina.de, Etsy, eBay, Sylviasschuhwelt.online, and social media, I sell my collections worldwide – with customers from Germany to the USA, Japan, Canada, and more.
